The Australian Surrogacy Podcast Episode 8: Hayley. Hayley was a gestational surrogate in Western Australia, and met her intended parents online. Not everything went smoothly in Hayley’s surrogacy journey, and particularly during the last trimester. Hayley relied on her parents, as well as the intended parents, to support them through the last challenging weeks of pregnancy. Hayley has some great advice for anyone exploring surrogacy and for how to make sure you have a positive experience.

Surrogacy is legal in Western Australia, but only for single women and ‘opposite sex’ couples, not single men or same sex male couples. This may change in the coming few years (hopefully!) after a review recommended law reform to bring the state into line with the rest of Australia.
