You may remember Henry and Lisa from episode 14, when they were patiently waiting on the birth of their son via surrogate, Emmy (episode 31). Now, in a ‘where are they now?’ retrospective, we’re checking in with Henry and Lisa to see what the past eighteen months have been like since the birth of baby Harry, and what parenting after surrogacy has been like for them. They are hilarious and heartwarming and ridiculous, and after this episode you’ll love them just as much as me.

We talked about parenting after surrogacy, the importance of counselling, the fourth trimester, and finding a surrogate and an egg donor.

Henry and Lisa also talked about their future plans for another surrogacy journey, and finding another egg donor, and their ongoing relationships with Emmy, their egg donor Kate, and their families. Harry knows who these special women are, and he listens to his story about his donor and surrogate which he’s heard from the day he was born. You can read more about VARTA’s resource for telling children their donor and surrogacy stories.

You can find Henry and Lisa in the Australian Surrogacy Community on Facebook, where they are generous with their time and contribution to the community.

You can find more information in the free Surrogacy Handbook, reading articles in the Blog, by listening to more episodes of the Podcast. You can also book in for a consult with me below.
