I live in Central Victoria and I’m a married with three primary school aged daughters and two teenage step children.
I gave birth to a surrogate baby for same sex, interstate IP’s in August 2017.
I became a surrogate because being a mum was my greatest wish in life and the thought of some people being unable to have children really made me sad. I just want everyone to have the choice I had, to start a family if they want to.
The best thing about surrogacy is watching a family being created in front of my eyes. Seeing the love of not only a couple, but an entire extended family be ignited.
The most challenging part of my surrogacy journey was feeling like I somewhat let down my family by not being well enough to care for them for many months.
I am going to be a surrogate again because I want to see my beautiful surrogate baby experience being a sibling and expand their family once more.
My advice for a woman considering becoming a surrogate is communication is the key. A lot of problems could be solved or avoided all together if adequate communication is achieved.
