Jessica gave birth as a surrogate for her friend Bec, who suffered with cystic fibrosis, and Bec’s partner Gareth. You might like to listen to Gareth’s episode, which tells the story of how Bec sadly passed away from complications arising from her cystic fibrosis, while Jess was pregnant with their son, Rixon. For Jess, being pregnant on the other side of the world and grieving the loss of her friend, it was challenging.

The remainder of the pregnancy and birth was shadowed in sadness as well as joy. One fear for many surrogates, is the worry that something will happen to their intended parents before they can meet their baby. While this happened to Jessica when Bec passed away, ultimately she still thinks surrogacy is amazing and would recommend it for any woman considering doing it.

If you are considering becoming a surrogate, you can contact me (for free!) and we will talk through the legal processes and criteria, because I want you to have the best possibly experience.
