Surrogacy in Australia is altruistic, and there are no matching agencies such as there are overseas.

Anna McKie is the Surrogate/IP Support Manager at Surrogacy Australia, helping to launch the Support Service (SASS) which is now up and running. This episode provides an overview of the SASS, what’s involved and outlining the benefits for surrogates and intended parents.

I do not endorse any particular service or option. You should undertake your own due diligence when researching the options before choosing a particular pathway. You should also seek legal advice.

Anna is also a surrogate, and is preparing to carry for a couple in South Australia. You can hear more about her story in Episode 30.

You can read more about How to Find A Surrogate in Australia, and the steps you need to go through when pursuing surrogacy.

If you are a woman considering becoming a surrogate, you can find out more about the requirements in this post.

Hi! I’m Sarah Jefford (she/her). I’m a family creation lawyer, practising primarily in surrogacy and donor conception arrangements. I’m also an IVF Mum, an egg donor and a traditional surrogate, and I delivered a baby for her Dads in 2018.

I advocate for positive, best practice surrogacy arrangements within Australia, and provide support and education to help intended parents make informed decisions when pursuing overseas surrogacy.
